Sounds kinky. And, barbaric. All socieites that abandon vicious punishments and revenge rise to be most dominate. Our leaders may be experiencing de-evolution, but, that doesn't mean our civilizations, overall, should be regressing, too.

This type of sentence is called corporal punishment which is popular in southeast Asia. I don't have anything against it, but some may claim that such sentence will violate the "cruel and unusual punishment clause" of the 8th Amendment.

If you don't go too far with it, it could work out and actually be more humane than locking people up for endless periods of time.
