I think it is a fear dream. The symbol of a house in your dream could mean that you are worried or stressed out about something.

Dreams are often influenced bu something you are reading or something you watched on tv that stuck in your brain. May even be pieces of either or. I know that when I am reading an especially twisted murder mystery, parts of the book come into my dreams and a jumbled up with a lot of other stuff. Dreams are great, like short freaky films. Dreams generally don't mean much, because your subconscious brain is filtering and processing lots of data. Kinda like backing up your hard drive while you sleep. Sometimes as the data passes to storage, you see little movie clips. I know some of the "dream interpreters" will see this differently, but, whichever you believe.......

Nightmares are made up of all you have seen, heard, and done that day or a week ago, it is the brain that jumbles all these things in a wierd and frightening way, bit like you drawing and adding thats not real. Nightmares are only worrying when you harp on them. Dont worry and watch and read and do only good things then you will not have these nightmares.

To understand a dream, it’s helpful to keep in mind why and how we dream. When we sleep, the body and perception systems are shut down, but the brain remains active. The brain thinks about what has recently been most active during waking hours—experiences, thoughts and feelings accessed recently whether consciously or not. The brain is still active, so it works on this content, but not in a familiar, rational way. During sleep, this material is not related using input from the external real world, but rather by the brain connections already established in the cortex. So the story connectedness isn’t like everyday experience, but rather a strange, circuitous flow from one image to the next. So dreams aren’t magical messages to guide our life, but dream imagery is taken from everyday experiences, thoughts and feelings that matter most to us during our waking life. So it’s a mistake to apply standard symbol definitions, such as Freudian meanings. All you need to do is think about what kind of imagery it is and how it relates to your daily life.
The imagery in your dream is about your personal life being invaded or intruded upon against your wishes. Maybe you have concerns about the security of your home, but more likely it's about people, such as disapproving friends or family, trying to manipulate you or influence you when you don't want it. You feel, however, that if you and your boyfriend stick together, you can stop them from being nosy and trying to run your life.

What are you scared of at the moment in your REAL life? Something you've been meaning to deal with but can't face it? Also, in your REAL life, is your boyfriend quite the opposite of you...quite calm and laid back, whereas you tend to panic and get easily stressed? If this is the case, try to address the thing that's really nagging you, then you'll feel better.

God sometimes speaks to us in dreams. It may be a warning or perhaps a wake up call. Seems to me like your fella was not there to support you. Is that what is going on in real life? Or are you afraid he wont be there when you need him?
Or...perhaps it was too much Italian food before bed? :)

Nothing worse than a nightmare that's so real it's with you for days.

Look at the dream closely;
What is the biggest fear or feeling?
Is it helplessness?
Is there something in your life you feel you may have no control over?
Is there something you greatly fear may be taken from you?
Are you secure in your relationship with your boyfriend?
Are you under pressure in your job or at college?
The answer to the riddle of our dreams is usually in the dream itself.
What was the fear in the dream?
Our subconcious is an amazing place; the Shadows of the things we don't want to acknowledge lie there, but don't be afraid of your dreams. They are trying to resolve something.
