whats an annotation and can u give me an example? i'm desperate.?

i have a big project due on tuesday and i have to print and annotation. i'm really freaking out because i dont know how to write one. please help me???

It refers to a "bibliography that contains descriptive or evaluative comments on bibliographical entries", that is, write out a sentence or two about each entry, as follows:

Thompson, Stith. The Folktale. New York: Dryden, 1946. A comprehensive survey of the most popular folktales, including their histories and their uses in literary works.
