Fuel tanks? None. The other responder is wrong - for decades, fuel pumps have been placed in the fuel tank regardless of fuel supply system. From the pump prospective, the main difference is fuel pressure with carburated systems ~5 psi, and fuel injection - 30-60 psi.

Fuel injection tanks have an electric fuel pump in them. Carburator fuel tanks have a mechanical external fuel pump, usually on the engine.

Vehicle with fuel injection have electric fuel pump located down in the fuel tank and the tank also has a return fuel line installed.

Hi there,
Obvious differences between tanks are, inj tank has a submerged fuel pump and the tank is fabricated differently internally so the fule pump sits into a hollow and the fuel pump is continually covered/submerged in fuel, along with the fuel pump you would have the fuel gauge sender unit too.
carb tanks have fuel sender units too and attached to them is the pick up for the carb, somewhere along the fuel line, normally fitted to engine, there the is a low pressure mechanical pump which draws fuel from tank and supplies carb with fuel, there is also a return on both tanks, fuel filters are also fitted in line.
Cheers

gas tanks? None. the different responder is faulty - for decades, gas pumps were placed contained in the gas tank inspite of gas provide gadget. From the pump ability, the important huge difference is gas stress with carburated structures ~5 psi, and gas injection - 30-60 psi.

Besides the other answers, the injector equipped tanks are pressurized by the fuel vapor, while vehicle tanks with an engine driven pump and carburetor are vented for vacuum.
