Friend gave my grandson a HP 9694C tower, fired it up and get the following error message:

"EXCEPTION OE HAS OCCURRED @0028:CO277077IN VxD VRED DIR (03)+00002007. THIS WAS CAED FROM 0028:C15B6B9A IN VxD USERVER(01)+000037BA"

Have no clue what all this means, have tried to go into "Help" but to no avail, HP is running Windows 98.

Grandson is sad, his new computer does work.

Help!!!! Help!!!!

It's a registry problem. It is hard to fix. It certainly cant be instructed over this kind of website. Try www.registryfix.com. If not, take it to professionals - if it's even a system worth saving.

Or try ray d's fix, but you'll lose all data. It's just a reinstall of the operating system.
