...do you think of a guy or a girl? when I e-mail classmates, they automatically assume I'm a guy. why is this?

ya, my name is Christina, but I don't like it. My family calls me Chris and I've even thought about getting it legally changed. I'm waiting a little while though, to see if I get married and how my name fits...lol.

when i hear the name chris, i think of it both ways. i kow a lot of guys and girls with the name chris. so its basically however you talk. if you talk like a guy, im going to assume your a guy. for girls, its just the opposite

Because Chris is only a nickname if you are a girl, and people expect proper names in emails usually. If you say Chris, I have known NO girls anywhere who have the name Chris as their actual name rather than a shortened nickname version of their real name.

Well there are several reasons I would think that you were a guy! Chris is normally considered a guys name! Plus there is a guy that I like and his name is Chris so I would probley automatically think of him!

because the way that chris is spelled is usually the way a boy spells his name. if you spell it kris or something like that then they will be a lot more likely to see that you are a girl and not a guy. hope this helps.

Isn't it funny Chris, Even your classmates think your a boy!!! Maybe??? Best to change your handle sooner rather than later. Consider CHRISSY its more effeminate.

Well, that's just the society we live in. Perhaps use your full name (I'm assuming it's Christina, Christyl or something like that)
