Gosh, that's a hard question......I want to give you a White Sox player and all, since my favorite player of MY lifetime is Frank Thomas.......
but I'd have to say Willie Mays. What an incredible guy. I really liked Hank Aaron tho....met him a few times. :)

Well, this is tough. Koufax, as a pitcher, was clearly the most dominant of his time, though arthritis cut his career short. Roberto Clemente was an awesome player, and, if he'd not been killed early, there's no telling what story his stats would say. Barry Bonds has put up phenominal numbers, but one could argue about enhancement (still unproven). Babe Ruth was great, but wasn't even the best on his team (Lou Gehrig, also cut short by illness). I think overall, I have to give the nod to the Say Hey Kid, Willie Mays. He was a phenominal player, both offensively and defensively, and gave back to the game and his community. Not only a great ball player, but a great athlete and a great human. And I say all this as a lifetime Dodger fan.

Willie Mays. He could hit, run, field and throw and had a great attitude. A 24-time All-Star and 2-time MVP (with 9 top 5 finishes), as well as a home run and stolen bases leader for 4 seasons each, he is among the Top 10 all-time in runs scored, total bases, home runs, extra base hits, and games played. He was also the first player to slug 500 home runs and amass 3,000 hits in his career.

Best all around player. Coming from a huge Cards fan, It has to be Willie Mays!!! He could hit, run, field, well... he could do everything!!! And if I had to pick a pitcher I would go with Sandy Koufax. Look at what he did during his 10 seasons in the league. Amazing Athletes!!!!

Always alot of ifs but
Mickey Mantle is probably the best naturally talented player in the game of baseball of all time. If his career had been injury free, Barry Bonds would be chasing Mantle's number not Aaron's

Its too hard to pick just one. There are so many stats that so many people have huge numbers in. And who knows if someone is taking steroids or not, maybe Bonds, maybe even Clemens. But hopefully Pujols will be in 10 or 15 yrs. from a Cardinals fan

It's very difficult to compare players of today with player's from the past. Barry Bonds (I know, I hate him also) has to be the greatest player of all time. Yes, it is 99.9% sure that he has been chemically enhanced - but his numbers, avg.; slugging %, on-base %, doubles, home runs, walks, stolen bases make everyone else pale in comparison. He is also was a fantastic fielder (average arm). He didn't do much to be liked or to help his team win - but I would vote him tops unfortunately.
