Is this whole "find out next" thing just annoying people?

It depends.
Isaac Newton said that if the chicken was moving, she will continue moving herself. So, she will cross teh street. Somebody - i don't remember who - said taht it's impossible because the chicken is walke very fast. Einstein said or the chicken crossed ther street or the street crossed the chicken. Did you understand this part? I didn't. I thnik the chicken wanted to cross the street. Why? Because she wanted to arrived in the other side of the street...

Well, I haven't noticed this phenomonen in news programmes - they don't tend to try and create suspense. I do find it frustrating in tv series, but I suppose they have to create cliffhanger endings to keep up viewing figures.
