They Shouldn't even be allowed to Participate in ICC tournaments , Almost None of the players are Canadian born..

Ps There is No Media Coverage for Cricket in Canada.
Yet they are going to be participating in the next world cup.. Such a joke.

I Say Ban them until they start producing their own talent, give Argentina or Nepal a Chance.

So the Canadian team is felled by a virus and you are calling for an all out ban? Would you be calling for the same ban if India's team bus was in an accident and they couldn't field a team in an international? It was because of a medical reason the team couldn't take the field, and it is not like you can fly replacements in overnight.

Meanwhile, you want to ban Canada from participating until they produce home grown talent? What a way to promote Cricket in a country that is built on immigration. I can just see it now, yes, you were born in India, moved to Canada with your parents when you were 12, but you can't play international cricket because you weren't born in Canada. So maybe Canadians who emigrate to other countries shouldn't be allowed to play ice hockey for said country (eg Italy during the last Olympics - 8 Canadians on the olympic team) or the Japanese shouldn't have any non-Japanese rugby players (usually some New Zealanders and Tongans to help them). The rules have been set by the international federations, and Canada is abiding by the rules.

As for no coverage of cricket in Canada, there is usually not much coverage of many sports in Canada day to day. Just because a sport does not gain the same level of Media coverage in Canada as say hockey, does not mean that it does not have its loyal supporters. Cricket is covered usually by a box score, same treatment as many baseball, football or soccer games get. I've been to the Caribbean during a West Indies tour and seen the coverage...it is similar to the Stanley Cup coverage in Canada, but you can be pretty sure that all the sports played in the West Indies don't get the same media attention.

You cannot fault the team for not having many Canadian born players. Hey - if you go by that theory, then England might not have played for a number of years, as they have always players of South African, Indian, pakistani or West Indian origin!!!

As for Canada playing in the next World Cup, the reason they were there was because of their performance in the ICC qualifying tournament. If the other countries want a chance, then they need to start performing! Hey, Canada can boast a victory over Bangladesh in the last World Cup.

well i think that they are a talented side....they r still the minnows....they had a very unussual situation....5 of their players fell ill on the eve of the match....so it was a fair in my opinion to have let them forfeit ...cos it was too late for the replacements to be called in....match rafree gave the time till the morning of the match to check the situation ...and when there was nothing left to do he let them forfeit...it was ok in my opnion...
