He has too much power but he has helped transform the media of the UK and US through his Empire. It's shaken up broadcasting in the UK and his newspapers, while not respected, are still the market leaders.

Rupert is a very shrewd business man. the secret to his empire is actually his nearly world wide domination of sports. he knows that by buying up the rights people will pay for his satellite TV services. he then uses his television to spout his blatant right wing views which seems to affect most people in the world.
the worrying thing about him is the sway he holds over an awful lot of country's political parties and systems which he likes to manipulate.
i'm not too sure what he wants with this much power but i think it isnt too good.
