So called fresh fish can be several days old and be terrible. If you live near the ocean and can confirm it was caught in the last day or two, fresh is always better. Otherwise, frozen fish is never allowed to sit long before it is frozen. No vitamins or nutrients are lost in the freezing process and it will be as good or better than most of what is called fresh fish.

Frozen for me , people who think they are buying fresh fish should think about how long the boats been at sea usually 3 to 4 days,if it's frozen when it's caught that's fresh if it's sat on a bit of ice till it get's to port it's not fresh .

Fresh fish. Don't really know why. I guess it tastes better & is to a certain degree safer/healthier. But I think frozen fish has more omega-3 fatty acids which makes it a healthier choice.

I worked at a 4 star seafood restaurant and you should never freeze fish, it kills the flavor and disturbs the texture. So I will say fresh is best. Buy it and cook and eat it with in 36 hours. But keep it on ice or wrapped in the fridge of course!

Fresh every time - Frozen fish always seems to be battered into oblvion by the surrounding ice and thus taste evaporates into the ice!

fresh ... because like anything you freeze- it can loose some of it's flavor in the process...and depending on the way it has been frozen it could have additives as well.
