i have been to herne bay its a rather pleasant oldfashioned seaside town with a pier and 1950's style diners/ice cream parlours and the coolest thing is that it ha a roller disco at the end of th pier! Whitstable further up the coast is more cultured with lots of quaint shops, galleries and restaurants and well worth a visit
