MP3 files are often encoded at 128 kilobits per second. This is the same as 16 kilobytes per second.

A 1 Gigabyte nano could therefore store about 1000000/16 = 62500 seconds of music, which is the same as 1042 minutes.

If we assume that a song is 5 minutes long, then that means we can get 208 songs on a 1Gb nano, or 416 on a 2Gb nano, or 832 on a 4Gb nano.

Depends on how many gb it can hold.
2gb=500 songs
4gb=1000 songs
8gb=2000 songs

4G can hold about 1000 songs
and 8G can hold 2000 songs
