If you want economy, buy foreign. If you want a powerful gas-guzzeling machine (and you know how thats endeared us to the rest of the world) buy domestic.

I've owned both. I can honestly say that the two Toyotas I owned were top shelf. Loved that Mazda GSL, too. I'm in the market for a new car now, and I read that Totota is giving GM a run for money and reputation. So, I'm giving a nod to the Camry Solara. Same chassis as the Lexus, from what I discover from this chat room . And yes, I'd have to agree with you... the Mustang is the ultimate muscle car. Who doesn't stop to look when it passes by.... especially if it's a convertible?? Doesn't matter if you are 16 0r 60... you look good and feel good in a convertible.

It's an age old question, alright. Are you ready for a new answer? Buy a domestic hybrid. Maybe time to downgrade from the 'muscle' stance, while still supporting American industry when at all possible.

No easy answer. Some high end domestics are great (cadillac, Buick, Hummer, etc.) But you can't go wrong with Honda and Toyota.

I drive a Scion tC (made by Toyota). It's a powerful, reliable car that has tons of miles and NO problems.

Well, would that be a foreign car like Camry, Accord or Altima (all built right here in the U.S.) or a domestic like Chevrolet, Ford and Dodge (built in Mexico/Canada)?

Depends on how much money you want to spend on car repairs and upkeep really. Domestic is much cheaper to repair and maintain (regardless of where it was built). Myself I like foreign and VW will get my money any time.

I own Domestic and will only own Domestic.... as long as you take care of a vehicle it will last a long time, no matter GM, Ford, Dodge or Toyota..... neglect kills a car.

I have a Mercedes, built in Alabama, by Daimler Chrysler. How the heck do you classify that?
