Is zoolander a good movie? I hear it's really funny. Would it be appropriate for a 12-year-old? Why was it almost rated R? I need some info.

Yes, Zoolander is a good movie; but no, I don't believe it would be appropriate for a 12-year-old. I suspect it was almost rated R for the group sex scene. Now, obviously they didn't show anything, and it was meant to be amusing, but the camera work and expressions on faces (not to mention the cheesy background music) indicated that the Christine Taylor character was having a whole lot of sex with everyone in the apartment (including the Tibetan sherpa and the midgets). That scene was preceded by the 3 main characters talking about the female characters lack of a sex life, and Zoolander says, "What, do you service yourself 20 times a day?" I would give it a thumbs down for a 12-year-old, but a big thumbs up for grown people.

It is very funny! However. there's a sex scene in it as well as some pretty naughty language and other adult themes. For these reasons I don't think it is appropriate for 12-year-olds, personally, but I'm sure some parents might be okay with their kids seeing it. It wouldn't be a movie I would show to my niece who is 12. My rule is if there's any situations I have to explain in length to a kid, I know it's a movie that's inappropriate for them to see.

It was almost rated R because of a simulated orgy sex scene. However, it is not graphic and does not show any "skin". It was merely in the spirit of comedy.
Personally, I loved the movie. Appropriate for a 12 year old? That depends on the parent. The cursing is kept to a minimum however the double entendre's/innuendo are rampant throughout. I really don't think a 12 year old would grasp any of it. Therefore, I would think that it's safe to watch.

It is kind of funny but not that great.
I guess it would be appropriate for a 12 year old, I can't think of anything in it they should not see.
I would find something else to watch, actually.

It's pretty funny. There are some double meanings, but it's definitely not an R movie. If the 12 year old is mature, than it should be fine.

Let me guess you let him watch such crap as Family Guy or South Park like everyone else and you're asking if this is appropriate? It's very funny and appropriate.

Well, it wasn't a very "R" kind of movie...
I saw it when I was young.. well, I'm young now, but, anyways
Believe me, it's really funny, and a good movie.
But yeah, I think it's fine.

i thought it was a waist of time and i want my two hours of life back. and there are a few scenes i would think not right for a twelve year old. but i see twelve year olds in here asking sex questions so who the heck knows anymore. i just hope i can keep my daughter inocent for as long as possiable if u know what i mean.

It was really funny!!!! I think it would be appropriate for a twelve-year old, but the language is a little rough sometime. Ben Stiller rules!!!!
