We live in Ohio and my husband does drywall and we are considering moving there to start a business. Is there still a big demand for this? I'm trying to do some research before we make a final decision.

I live in New Orleans, and work in the trades. Right now a blind man with no arms could make a living hanging drywall here. The problem is housing, or the lack there of. You need to be inquiring about housing that you can afford, in a neighborhood you can be safe in. Try looking in the classified ads at NOLA.com. Get a map of the city. I recommend that you try Jefferson Parish addresses, particularly Gretna, Kenner, Metarie.
In Orleans Parish try Algiers, uptown (big $). There are definite areas that you want to avoid. Do your homework, and you'll be happy.

There is still plenty of demand for workers in the greater New Orleans area. I was, until recently, running a business in the area, and could never find employees. Made things difficult!
