If everyone thinks the president is doing such a crummy job, why aren't there more people out there running for president then? stop complaining, unless you are going to DO something about it rather than whining. You know why people don't want to be president? because NO MATTER WHAT decisions they make, there is going to be SOME group of people who hate it. We need less complainers and more socially active people in our country. lazy americans.

lol. sorry, no offense meant with "lazy americans". I just see so many people coming here from other countries and how hard they work. It makes the general population of american born citizens look lazy. and I don't want to be President. I vote and all that, but I also don't bash presidents, whether I agree with them or not. that's all I'm saying.

Jimfix, well said. I agree with you completely. The presidency is an "inherited problem". or so I've read in some books I've researched.

I do not believe it is hate. It is what I call parroting. The majority, on here, have no idea what a president can and cannot do. They do not realize that he does not dream things up. He is a member of a committee. He acts on advice from others. No one can be responsible for everything.
Many on here claim perfection. They could do it so much better, uh huh. I have see 11 presidents in my time and things go on pretty much the same no matter who is in office. FDR did nothing someone else could not have done, DDE and JFK did nothing. Nixon was a case on his own.
So, no matter what happens they will carp and complain. Most are not motivated enough to get off of the computer. Nor to contact their reps. So it will go on.
The cryers also do not realize that this president is acting according to congress. Now are we to believe that all of congress, some 550 people, were so stupid as to be bilked? Come on kiddies.
We still have to support the president. Those that say they do not because they did not vote for him is like hating the Prom Queen because you did not vote for her. He still represents us.

There are several good candidates who run but never get very far in our subverted political process.
Unfortunately, the "two party system" commonly accepted as valid in this country works to suppress the best candidates for progress, change, and the common good. The Great republi-cratic party (Republican+Democratic) has enacted laws which benefit their own collective hold on power and is kept there through the party ownership by a few huge corporations, not by the American public.
This is most easily seen by following the money trail in campaign contributions. Big money of the military-industrial complex is supplied to the Republican+Democratic coffers, but not to the others.
Our last freely elected president was Ike Eisenhower. The U.S.A. lost the cold war. Haliburton, et al. won.
Being vocal is one of the few forms of social activism left. If you do not exercise that right, it WILL be taken away. The unified voice of the radical right trying to re-enact the Alien and Sedition Acts of 1798 is proof that we need to keep alert.
Those unwilling to learn from the past must unfortunately repeat it.
The extrordinary powers our current administration has chosen to weild are NOT what was legally granted, nor what was what was taught in any school civics or history class. The fact that Congress has been unable to represent the will of the people IS the issue at hand. These are not inherited issues, it is a coup.
Please, everyone, read the following links! We have been here before when modern mass media and eaves dropping didn't exist.
Be educated. Be vocal. Question authority!

When anti-war protesters are being profiled by the FBI, and your calls are being tapped when your talking to your Uncle in Canada you'll probably get the severity of the state of our nation. I must say that in my life time presidents have always been given a hard time, but I have never seen one that was more hated not only by his own country, but by the world. Millions upon millions throughout the world are in protest over our president and our foreign policy. Our current administration is scary, and I'm afraid to even imagine the mess that will be left when and if the darkness is lifted. If I was you I'd do a little more research. All the political groups, all of the articles, all the things out there informing you of the true intentions and unmoral behavior of our country are only out there because people are "doing something", but it's people like you that hear the facts and choose to ignore, judge and dismiss the truth. You chalk it up to every president is questioned and not agreed with. So, you choose not to do anything about it, and then point the finger at the rest of us. One piece of advice: Pay attention to what you do, not others, and do what you believe. Whether that be supporting a fascist regime or defending a once honorable nation created by the once oppressed.

I couldn't have said it better, except to say this doesn't just apply to Americans...we have the same problem here in Canada. Whats worse is that half the people who whine and complain, don't even take the time to vote...

I'm not running for president because I don't want to be the president. But, I do deserve to be well served by my politicians. After all my taxes help to pay for their salaries. Also, I am gauranteed the right to criticize ANYBODY I want. It's actually part of the reason my father and grandfather have gone off to war, to protect my freedom. So I will continue to speak out against the president if I feel like it.
And thank you to all the veterans who have fought for my right to freedom of expression!

I do not hate Bush...feel the war was justified, just needs more death from above so we can get troops out eventually. We will also have to mine the border besides destroy all vehicles sneaking in bearing Shiite Iranians, Syrians, Turks, Jordanians, Hezbolah, etc bent on Kill, Kill, Kill as dictated by their religion of peace. I do kind of hate anyone who would set up their own people to suicide as the only sure way to see Heaven. This Allah moon god is no god of love, nor was his messenger, me thinks!

Most of us are not qualified or rich enough to become president. Any president that gets us into a war under false pretense(weapons of mass destruction) should be trying to fix what he screwed up and the problems it has created. Not Bush,he just keeps digging us in deeper. I didn't vote for him therefore I don't have to support him!!!
