Yes, and I thought it was the end of the line in my life.

But after that I got back much more than I lost by a means I could never have anticipated before it happened.

Yes. I lost everything and became homeless. I had never been in jail, never done drugs,...even went to a bible college for a year, and wound up getting fired from a job for being honest. Some people at work were doing fake repairs on cars, some even new from the factory & written off on warranty, it seems, as well as private use of a company vehicle. The owner was said to be a really nice man, so I figured he should know. Soon after, my supervisor asked me to take his $20-bill, the company vehicle (that I was responsible for) and go a few miles down to the store to buy a carton of cigarrettes for him, on company time. I didn't smoke, and my grandfather had died with lung cancer after smoking for years; so, I was opposed to helping his habit. I also figured that, since he seemed out to get me, for putting him & his friends on the hot-seat, I would rather be fired for doing what's right than for doing what's wrong. Funny thing, I'd had a dream 3 weeks beforehand --- even before all of that --- that I was going to lose my job. That very day, I had even wondered about that it seemed to have not happened. Hey, I had to do the right thing, myself. Maybe I should have prayed more, then. I had another problem at a different company, later, prayed a lot, and the boss, who seemed out to get me, suddenly & unexpectedly got fired. The "nice guy" boss decieded to not interfere with how the lower supervisor ran his department, I was told. I also knew that some of them knew each other working at another business before that one.
Well, as for that homeless period, after losing that job, it went downhill. I eventually just left the area, hitch-hiking. The whole homeless thing wasn't very pleasant and was humiliating. Cops sometimes treated me sorry, and I still remember the sound of people electronically locking their car-doors when they came anywhere near me, it seems. Plus, there were trumped-up charges against me by dishonest officials, in multiple states, but I was let go each time. When a detective in Louisiana tried to railroad me on a trumped-up charge, there, I was honestly able to tell him that I simply trusted in God & didn't even have to panhandle, so why would I want to break into some place way out in the countryside & not take a thing. I even told one of the officers that he could check my sneakers, after he told me they found a good set of shoe prints at the site. He didn't show any interest in that and drove me on over to the county HQ to continue the hassle in other ways, not caring that I could prove my whereabouts & had no possible way of going back & forth to even try such a break-in in so short a time-frame, even if I'd wanted to (which I didn't).
A BIG plus? -- I learned to trust in GOD a whole lot more, and God showed me more about His ability to provide for my needs through some definite times of divine intervention --- really cool.
I still have no finished degree, a big college loan debt, and a rather low wage-ceiling at my job, without the degree, but I have a clear conscience, too.

I have lost many things but don't believe you can ever lose everything because you have yourself and your soul unless your physical body dies. With yourself and your soul if you believe you can, you can always create new things, friends etc no matter how terrible your circumstances are.

Just about everything including friends and family... it wasn't a fun place to be but I learned more about myself and the never-ending grace of my Savior, Jesus through that time so I'm glad it happened.
