Look out for the adverts for auditions. Try the website or phone the tv station and ask how to contact them. But the first round of auditions arent actually done by the 'star' judges, just usually one not famous person. They arent always recorded and there are thousands of people there. You wait for ages and ages and get a couple of minutes. They dont even give you any feedback. Its lots of fun but unless you're superstar quality dont expect to get too far. Just be yourself and have fun!

First thing is sing something different; they get sick to the back teeth of the 'old favourites'!
Remember it is primarily a singing competition and don't put together some lame dance routine - it might not seem lame when you devise it - but I guarantee it'll look lame on telly - they ALL do!!
Find a song, out of the ordinary, that really shows your voice off at its best.
When they ask you if you think you have the X-Factor - say you'll leave that for THEM to decide.
and BREAK A LEG!!

X -factor is a closed shop, and most of the people who find tehmselves still there in the final stages have been placed in this position from the word go.
It's a fix, and the "judges" are only in it for the self-glorifying effect TV has on shallow people. The winner has been pre-determined, so, unless you have an outstanding talent, don't bother.
