Not everyone does, even among believers, but i hear you.
I am a Christian, life long, and I believe God set things in motion, and will come in the end to judge how well we behaved.
All we have is self control and free will. We don't have puppet strings attached to our heads. We are, within reason, masters of our destiny. We make a choice every day to be good or bad.
I am sure other Christians feel the same.

As a Hindu, I believe that everything happens for a good reason. Therefore, I don't blame the gods for bad things that happen because I know it will lead to a good thing. The gods wouldn't do something just to make people miserable. It may be a test of your character, to see if you will be a good person no matter the situation. A poor person that has nothing, not even a family, may still be very kind. This will have a positive effect on their karma and in the next life, they will be a wealthy person. Being poor would probably be a good thing in this situation because the gods were just testing him to see if he can live it out as a poor person, and still be kind. If this person had been rich, he may have been extremely greedy and his next life would not be so great.

Because they haven't accepted Objective Reality, God springs forth from the primitive limbic system of your brain, the last remnants of your reptillion past. The area where our raw emotions reside, including the irrational belief systems.
The 'religious' experience is triggered by deep depression, starvation, near death, or other highly charged situations. The 'born-again' christian phenomena has a scientific basis....yes, your limbic system. Why has man evolved this mechanism you might ask? Simple...it was a survival mechanism of our cave man ancestors to cope with a hostile and unknown universe.
The cerebral cortex is a more recent development. Here is where our rational and logical thought processes take place. It is here that the atheists have found their basis in reality.
In reality, there is no sentient, omnipresent, omnipotent supernatural being, supernatural entity or force....therefore all the inequities and misery of the world will always persist, some will have good things happen to them and some not, some will blame the invisible entity but objective reality wins all the time....no matter how hard some try to get that limbic brain of theirs to work...sorry

Because that would make them accountable. You won't find many who 'blame' GOD for the good they have done. THAT is where people seem to take the responsibility.
For the bad things- nobody enjoys a finger pointed at them. It is what we do after the pointing that makes or breaks us. If people would pick up a mirror instead of a rock, we would be able to see who we truly are and fix what needs to be fixed. But the fixing can be painful and revealing, so they say 'Aaahh, too much work. I'll blame someone else'.

Some people, they don't want to admit that they're wrong.
So they blame God for the things that are bad. Others
that are very religious say, "This happened because God
smiled good fortune upon us."
It's a way that many people use to relieve themselves of problems.
Whether they are good or bad.
I my self believe that everything happens for a reason. I have
had some very troubling experiences, but everything turns out
fine in the end.

People blame god because god is a convenient scapegoat, plain and simple. More harm has been done in the name of a "God" figure than any other. Wether it be an Islamic, Christian, or even a Pagan God, many things have been done in the name of a God figure which have been horrific. Personal responsibility is learned. Its one of those things that should be learned at the earliest age possible. Parents today, think they have to be their kids' best friends instead of real parents so they make more excuses than rules for their children to follow. They find it easier to send them to church, where they are taught things that aren't always appropriate.
For instance..I live in Alaska where there are large, predatory creatures. If I were to tell my son the story of "Daniel in the Lions' Den" and then he stood there while a grizzly bear charged him...were he to get killed by a grizzly bear because he thought that "God" would save him...whose fault would it be that he was killed? It would be mine...but instead..I teach him that to lie down with lions is asking to become their next meal unless its a completely controlled situation. (Not likely in the event that its a 400lb grizzly bear..or a 1 ton moose with an attitude). Personal responsibility is learned.

apperently for some people if there is no god then there is no purpose for life, how about your purpose in life is to make the world better for future generations, religon's con is the attempt to trick people into believing there is an afterlife that you will live forever in, sorry there is no such thing as forever, and all things have a begining and a end, even the universe, and that is why life is so precious, just the fact that our world has turned into what it has is cosmic miricle that probably has occured in other parts of the universe many times over, so make the best of every moment you have in life, try to be a good person and hope you dont have to take one in the but along the way...

You know, God touts himself as the creator of everything.
Since he said everything, I'll take it to mean everything.
I attribute every action that occurs on this planet to God. That means the bad ones too. Whether it's a cobra biting and killing a curious two year-old child or a serial killer raping and killing a 13 year old girl, it's God's doing. He created the cobra, and he created the serial killer.
I definitely believe in God and I follow one of the three monotheistic religions, but I have a lot of questions about God's justice, goodness, and intent.
He made humans fallible. He gave us the power to "choose", yet he made us the way we are and he knew exactly what choices we would make long before we were born to make them. Yet, in creating us to be who we are and do the things we do, he nonetheless intends to put some of us in hell for doing the things we were meant to do.
God sounds like a sadist more than anything.

We live in a society where people don't take responsibility for their actions. Every criminal out there has the "poor Johnny" syndrome; thus is not accountable for his/her actions. "He molests children because he was molested and doesn't know any different." What kind of crap is this?
It really comes down to accountability....someone has to be responsible but the responsibility never seems to lie with the person who exhibits the ill behavior.
I seldom hear people placing the blame elsewhere when something good happens.

Your question has the answer. Is of course lack of responsibility. Most people don't even know what that means.
as simple as this is Action = Reaction
Good Action = Good Reaction
Bad Action = Bad Reaction
NEVER fails
We have to be VERY care full because sometimes we don't see the results as fast as we would like to. even though they are there
