ponitail55 was the only person so far to give an intelligent answer. Men, overwhelmingly across cultures, prefer women who are in tune with there frame and in the proper proportions. There are exceptions, but not enough to shake this standard. It is not society that dictates our preferences in mates, but our evolved heritage, mediated by local environmental conditions. The media is the refection of us all and they do not find fat women sexy, because the vast majority of people do not find fat women sexy. You are a outlier of male preference; accept it and stop trying to blame the media for not responding to your skewed personal tastes.

Because it is a common body type. Anybody can be fat if they simply lounged all day and did no physical activity. Some people are fat because of genetics and other biological factors but lets be honest here: the North American society has its share of fat people. The slimer kind of women are envied. Why? There's very little of them and its different. The normality found in the world is no fun.
In africa, its completely the opposite. Fat women are envied, the smaller girls are not since there's too many small girls and not enough fat women.

Media tend to feed us what we want to hear/see and of course plays on that. If the consumers decided big is beautiful then in no time you will see the media bombarding us with the idea of being big is sexy so my point is we influence the media then they take a lead on it.

I`ve heard a theory, so to share it. It goes that since most fabulous fashion designers are man and gay, they were striving to make their models appear more "male" thus making them look as close as possible to their ideal body type (again, which is male). If you are dangerously slim you tend to lose your boobs etc., not to mention lose your period (doesn`t get less feminine than that). So fashion pretty much dictates that. Although, that is rapidly changing. The other thing is what "So.." said. What I personally think is that being healthy is sexy (not to mention satisfied). Media just needs time to recognize it.

'The media' portray thin women as beautiful because our current society considers them to be beautiful and fat women to be ugly. Most of the society feels this way, at the moment. It was not always this way, but it is now.

If you find them sexy, then good for you. But I do not consider people who abuse their bodies to be sexy. If you are under weight or over weight, you are abusing your body, and ITS NOT SEXY.

because they are not, I am thinking obease, not a bit over weight, nor are stick thin women both are unheathy examples of what women should not be. Too skinny unhealthy, Too fat unhealthy.

I know , because in the Olden days, people that were skinny were the "Underdog"!! Look at all of the old black n white pictures of the women on the beaches, and everywhere!! They were rather healthy looking, and men in those days (I was told) prefered large women!! It was a sign that they took care of theirselves and ate good..... In which was attractive to men, in those days! Skinny was not popular, like it is today!!! And I personally think all of those women who have Modeling jobs, never smile, because their just DIEING to eat a cheeseburger!!! And I mean literally dieing, killing theirselves for their "Profession!!" Its so sad!! And the sad part of it all, is men made them that way, all flat chested and no but !!! So, you know what that says to me? Men that like women built with no chest and no but, that they might as well be with a man, and that they have "GAY" tendecy's!!! What man in there right mind wants to sleep with skin & bones?????? SCARY thought actually!!! Dont you agree? Because that's what those women are, skin and bones, they may as well have come from the whole "Holacaust" ARA!!!!!!! I kid you not!!! Like the Jews did......Its so sad!!!
