I'm going to do a project on punk culture for music class and some info or help from you guys would be awesome

Mentioning important bands of the genre would help, too

you should include some punk icons like: Sid Vicious, Johnny Rotten, Joe Strummer, Joey Ramone and Captain Sensible, and some important bands would be Iggy and the Stooges; they inspired most of the great punk bands like The Sex Pistols and The Ramones. You might want to write about Anti- Establishment - the punks believed that punk should be a social movement ie. without corporal sponsorship (a record deal). You should probably mention CBGB's, which is/ was? a famous venue in New York. The Ramones played there, and it is how they were discovered - by Danny Fields - who helped get them signed to Sire Records. And you should write about the London punk scene, and about punk fashion.
