Croatia became independent in 1991 but the war lasted untill 1995... war was defensive...

Good people. Catholic southern slavs. Amongst the tallest people on earth. Among the most beautiful women on earth. I like Croatians.

Former Yugoslavian Republic
Became independent in 1992 after a 2-years war against Serbia.
Used to make part of the Austrian Empire.
Capital Zagreb
Majority of the population is catholic
Shocked the world beeing 3rd in the 1998 World Cup (since them, nothing that worthies mentioning in football), defeating Germany 3-0 in the round of 8.
There is a Brazilian playing for Croatian, what I think is awful.
Wants to be a part of the European Union.
Lots of emmigration to Germany and Australian
Also some emmigration to South America in the past, specially Chile and Argentina.
Never met a Croatian personally, so I can't say nothing about Croatian people.

I went before the war and it was pleasant enough. Sarejevo was a relaxed place and Zagreb okay. If you can go and see the water lakes (towards the coast). It's a series of lakes and waterfalls.

I've heard of it. I wait on people at my work from that country all the time. They seem to be nice people. Hate to say it, but sometimes they are nicer then all the other people that come in.

I went to Croatia when it was formerly known as Yugoslavia - it was one of the best Holidays I've ever had, the people were very welcoming & friendly

i have heard of croatia because my friend @ school has heritage there but I really don't have an opinion about it and it's people cause I do not know much about it
