Early on in the formation of this Nation the patriots would have taken this government down in a heartbeat. The Bush administration has been getting away with going against the will of the people for so long now that they think it's within their rights to continue to do so and it seems we no longer have the patriotic verve to stop them.

As the waging of war is granted to the president by the Constitution, and is not in the hands of the people, I suggest you vote and choose someone you believe will end the war not expand it. This will be a positive long term consequence for democracy. Do remember we live in a Constitutional Republic not a democracy, and as only about 35-40% of those eligible vote, I for one am thankful.

If BushOilCo gets away with going into Iran to complete their play for Hegemony in the Gulf Oil Region, it will be a fatal blow to our Nation, and certainly will be one for the Middle East and the world at large as well! Our always slow to wake up population is already playing catchup with the "what's wrong with this picture" BushOilCo administration, and they have expressed their intitial disaproval. Already these dishonorable men have plunged us so far into debt to countries like China that we may never get out while making huge profits for their constituents like Halliburton and the weapons manufacturers, http://www.uuforum.org/deficit.htm
they have negotiated treaties like the North American Union, a significant expansion of NAFTA, which will cause great hardship to American workers and southern cities and states, and more great profits for their corporate friends. http://www.humanevents.com/article.php?id=14965
For them to now work to draw Iran into the fight in Iraq, part of their strategic plan, would draw us into a total war with Islam, draining our manpower and finances beyond the breaking point. At this point I believe they plan to announce that, due to the seriousness of the situation in the Middle East, we have to suspend elections and keep BushOilCo in power indefinitely. It not only would make our government fall, I think it is part of the plan. I know it sounds "out there," but how else do you explain this seemingly bumbling strategy of theirs. They have great military and strategic minds at their disposal, and at every turn, they have chosen the "wrong" way. I know they are not idiots, so I have to assume they have another agenda. When I heard Bush's speech to the nation, I was chilled by the obvious threat to Iran contained therein. One should assume they will carry it out, just as they did to Saddam and Iraq. One should also assume that the reason they give for going against Iran will be just as bogus as the ones they used to attack Iraq. It remains to be seen if we have what it takes to wake up fast enough, and then stop them before they go any further and do anymore damage. Our Nation is on the Line!

The short term consequences is that the Republican party will be dead (YEAHHHH!). The long term consequences is that our country will be broke and go into a huge economic downturn, and as a result so will the world's economy. If we go into Iran and/or Syria, it will break our country just like the USSR broke in the 1980's.

war is not a popularity contest its needed for survival..al qaeda could really care less what you believe in..they want you dead and will stop at nothing to get it. what makes goverment fail is when people move from reality as they are doing here and did in ancient rome. my advice is stop reading the pelosi press releases and obtain a healthy dose of reality concerning al qaeda and jihad.
