Some schools and teachers have requirements concerning the use of a notebook or a binder. Some may require a separate notebook for each class rather than a 5 subject one. A binder filled with paper and a divider for each subject is almost essential for seventh grade. It might be wise to check on the school/teacher requirements first.

Some prefer a binder but a few notebooks should be enough. A notebook for Math, english, social studies, science. one or more of these subjects may need a three subject notebook to separate notes labs projects.
