I heard kids at school talk about it. I was 19 before I did it to myself, though. I always thought that was a dirty act like I would go to hell or something. It took me a long time to realize it was OK for me to enjoy sex with someone or with myself either one. There's a lot of useful info at the link below about masturbation including techniques for singles or couples, what it is, & why to do it~

A neighborhood guy told me about then showed me, I was about 11 and he was 13. He was already going thru puberty and I had not begun. The whole incident was an eye opener.

I figured it out on my own, but it scared the crap out of me. I thought it was wrong, but then I was at a friends house, and told him about it. He told me that he did it too, and showed me how natural it was ;-) and I've been eternally grateful to him every since.
