No, it sounds like a fine match for me. 15.3hh is a good size horse.

I'm the same height as you and I would say that's a good size, if you prefer a smaller horse. Of course, the best way to tell is by actually riding. I wanted a small horse until I rode a Morgan that was under 15 hands and I swear I felt like I was going to fall off because I just felt so close to the ground. It also depends on how solidly built the horse is. There are breeds of ponies that full-grown men ride such as the Norwegian Fjord (my fave). So to answer your question, no it's not too small.

15.3 is a good sized horse, definitely not too small for a 5'8'' rider. I'm 5'6'' and my horse is 15 hands. He's still growing, but even when I do get on him, I don't feel like he's too short.

Good lord no- I've seen 30 year old men that are 6 feet tall getting on a little cutting horse that's 14.2 hh. The horse does perfectly fine and is not harmed. But always make sure the saddle you ride with is fitted not only for you but for your horse.

Heck no! Just for kicks, I still ride my childhood pony and his back hits the middle of my belly, and I am 5 foot 3 inches, and he still gallops around and plays while I'm riding him. It's hard to hang on but he needs exercise too. My mare is 15.5 hands and she is perfect for me. My grandfather is 6 foot 7 inches, and his horse is only 15 hands.

15.3 is more than capable of carrying someone who is 5'8".

NO. Also it's not the height of the rider but the weight that matters.

Yes that is most likely too small, unless you have short legs or the horse is very wide through the barrel.
