I have a collection of vintage dresses from the 1930's-1920's, and sometimes I wear a 1930's or 1920's dress out, and sometimes I just wear cute, modern clothing like pants and a nice blouse. What is strange is that lots of guys have come up to me on the street and complimented me or asked me out when I am dressed in vintage dress and hat ( which if you know anything about 1930's dresses, they are pretty conservative), but it is much rarer that anyone comes up to me if I am dressed in modern clothing. Why is this?

There are two phenomena at work here
1. Guys have no clue what's in for women at any given time. (It changes too fast for them to keep up even if they were interested)
What they do know, is that you stand out. They don't know why, you just do. It makes them notice you above all the women out there wearing a variation of the same outfit
2. Women who show less just look classier. Not always sassier or racier, but classy. There aren't many guys who wouldn't want to be with a classy woman if they could.

okay i think taht men or huys hit on u when u r wearing vinatge b0-cause
a) they think u r very worldly and experienced
b) they think u r rich because they no that vintage is often expensive
c) vintage often compliments the figure and guys usually like that
d) they r gay
e) u look way hotter in vinatge then in modern
either way ... if u continue dressing like this u may find yr perfect man!!!!!!!

Clothing from the early part of twenty first century make a girl/women look much more feminine than the the modern stuff where you butt hangs out..

I would say old fashioned clothes...but not from the period where bustles were in style because I think that was kindof a stupid looking trend.

they like something different and like the fact u don't mind stand in out in the crowd with its very appealing 2 men as your not following the trends your making your own and wearing what u feel good in

Maybe they think you are trying extra hard to draw attention to yourself, and maybe they like to jump to their own conclusions about what the reason for that is.
