When I worked for this one company there was this guy who started working for my group 3 weeks prior (needless to say before he came I had awesome reviews, got promoted, and got along with everyone) who came stating how he was going to change the world without knowing key items such as:
People’s opinions and behaviors
Current processes and procedures
Clear understanding of whom the customer is and what their demands are
In the 3 weeks I reported to him, he bragged about how he laid off 60-70 people and would bug you on assignments like Chinese water touchier (every 3 minutes ask 'are you done yet, when are you going to be done, how much longer will it be). I used to hide from him, log out of my IM, and couldn't even focus on what I needed to get done so the job would be complete and done well.
We had a ton "tickets" because we outsourced all our work to another country and they were trying to learn everything, so people had to work a ton to keep everything going and keep the customer happy.
At the end I was working about 70-80 hour work weeks and really had no life. This guy who was my boss told me I had to cut back and work me and my team 42 hours or less. We were all salary and the money was really funny money, but I wasn't about ready to let issues drop on the floor because some guy said to work 42 hours.
My director said work the issues, so I worked the issues like he said. We were resolving as a team all the issues and wowing the customer, everything seems business as usual.
Then one day he (my boss) told me the following (and I still am irritated thinking about it:
1. Your are not delivering on your deliverable of working 42 hours a week (even though I was resolving all the issues and had an happy customer).
2. Starting now you are demoted. I was reporting to one of my peers who was a real "slime ball".
3. You will be written up (my SDM and PDM '2 mgrs types, one was focused on personal development, the other was work development' were both new to the account).
4. You will be fired if you lie about your time on your charging. Which I wasn't doing, so going there was totally stupid.
So I had no choice, I boxed my stuff up and walked out and was glad as heck I did! I sent this adorable email to everyone that was politically correct stating I was leaving the company due to a differing opinion of how a customer should be treated.
I found a job in less than 2 weeks (I was not even looking before that time), granted it wasn't the end all and be all of jobs. But I got big raise, and worked there for 3 months until I found a new job that I love (and got another raise on as well).
Really money doesn't mean anything to me, but the truth of the matter is that don't take crap from anyone no mater what even if they are your boss!

I would tell you what my boss/supervisor said before, that I was meet expections at the company when the boss knew fully well that I was at the top and then on top on that, telling me one night that "I WILL FIND PEOPLE THAT ARE WILLING TO DO THE JOB," when I did the job right and the Boss is treating me like dirt.

we gained't permit you already know the way your boss "feels". this relies upon on her. As a chairman, i understand there are days my workers love me, and days they need i might drop ineffective. Such are human beings. it is what i will permit you already know. If there's a company coverage against very own use of workplace kit/telephones/internet, your boss could be madder approximately your violating the guideline than approximately what you suggested. This i might problem approximately, in spite of if “everybody else” does it. in many agencies, they have the flexibility to "see" each keystroke you're making on your laptop. So, once you deliver an IM, on an identical time as you think of it must be inner maximum--it must be public expertise. for this reason the 1st friends I make in a brilliant enterprise is with the IT adult males who're tasked at montitoring utilization. I ought to permit you already know, that on an identical time as i might choose to think of that something petty like this would not regulate my judgements down the line, human nature tells me that if I had 2 workers the two desiring an identical merchandising/threat i might use this occurance as a reason to no longer sell you--if purely subconsciously. then back, till your boss is a actual witch, or decrease than extensive rigidity from her bosses, you need to be waiting to go on. very final theory, our economic equipment is interior the tank, agencies are attempting to maintain money; ownsizing and closing down on a daily basis--and not purely interior the "economic" sector. everybody needs to word that a "solid enterprise" right this moment, could be long previous the following day. Make your self effectual, tackle greater advantageous responsibilities and save your kvetching for the bar AFTER artwork and in no way with co-workers. do no longer present administration a reason to make you between the 1st workers to circulate. solid success

My "big boss" has said a lot of things jokingly calling us *******, worthless bums, idiots. But this one bugged me...I work on salary which is technically not right since I m blue collar and not a manager and work 60 hour weeks it makes sense to me. I was asked by another superior to change my schedule to 3rd shift. My "big boss" got the word and came up to me and told me that I would be greatly rewarded...in heaven. I even heard him joking with other employees how he is taking advantage of my getting all this free labor.

"You are fired" was both the worst and best thing. Worst because I lost a paycheck, best because I went on and started my own highly successful business as a direct result.

I've been cussed out before (all cusswords you can think of). He didn't want to send the money on something so I went out and bought it with my own money. It was something we needed, not wanted, due to our safety.
