With only 30% of Americans still falling for the crap that is spewed out on conservative talk radio, the Yahoo message boards were the #1 place for the Fox News watchers to get the REAL scoop on what Americans know about the Bush administration. And it had to be stopped. I call for Yahoo to bring back the discussion boards and take a stand for the Freedom of Speech in America! Who is with me?

There are still sites that do it.

Possibly, at least I hope so, Yahoo must have had other reasons than the exposure of Bush's lies to remove the superlative "Discuss Option". Probably money. However it was bad judgment. It permitted unabated free expression, no matter how ridiculous, and a much fuller experience. Microsoft's QnA wisely has this exciting option.
I am with you 100% on the Freedom of Speech in America, and restoration of the "Discuss Option". Keep up the good work!

I think the rest of the world needs to be part of this debate as well, so it's not just about freedom of speech in America. I'm a New Zealander living in France, but without going into details my life has been affected (as have so many others around the world) by Bush and the New American Century Project's push to claim the century as their own. And by "they" I certainly don't mean the people of America. You are the solution - you are the best hope we have. Thank you for isolating Bush, and yes - please allow this to be a free and open international discussion.

I do not necessarily endorse your opinion, but I am for the discussion boards!

If Yahoo is working on a new way to discuss topics, why "quit the old job before getting a new one"? There is much to debate right now!

I don't think the 70% of the people who believe the crap spewed out by the Looters and the Left-wing media have the REAL scoop on the Bush administration or Freedom of Speech. In fact, it doesn't appear they have a firm grip on reality.

Maybe Yahoo got tired of the crap spewed out by you and your gaggle and nipped it in the bud.

I don't know what kind of stuff was "discussed," but knowing you Looters, it was probably loud, obnoxious and laced with profanity.

"To Yahoo! News readers:

Yahoo! News is working on new ways for readers to comment on the news and participate in a discussion around it. While we work on our new community features, the message boards that were linked from individual news articles have been taken offline.

As they were set up, the Yahoo! News message boards allowed a small number of vocal users to dominate the discussion. In addition, related discussions from similar news articles were not easily linked.

Over the next few months, we plan to offer new discussion forums based on topics in the news and incorporating the latest features to foster a better discussion for all of our readers.

Yahoo is a program that is being written as it runs. They have a thousand code warriors locked in a shed in Bangalore eating Medu Wada and drinking diet soda. while they geek out the code.

Go big Red Go

With 30% of Americans falling for the enlightenment on talk radio, that makes 70% falling for the absolute BS on the media. What do you assholes on Yahoo message boards know? You're all average joes, just like me. Bush isn't lying, he's doing what he thinks is best for America, and I believe in many of his decisions. If you asshole Liberals just left him alone and stop making him compromise himself, he'll get things done much faster than Clinton and many other presidents ever did.

Your theory is all BS. pull your head out of your butt and live in reality.

The posts in the "discuss" for the majority had nothing to do with even the topic of the news subject, many had turn in to 'topic-of-the-day' bashing, many of the posts were not of intelligent discussion. I for one, like the boards but like many, did not like the vulgarity that many of the post had turned into. But with a free site Yahoo, where you can created many aliases in a moment and used numerous posts to 'spew' that type of talk occurs.

No I believe it was the James Kim story that caused them to pull the plug. Yahoo will allow anyone to be targetted except asians. They tried to deify this man for weeks. Hey, fact is he was a bonehead who got lost. He is no more special than the next person who faces life or death because of their own foolishness. His story was on the front page news for over a week. Naturally the trolls got sick of it and attacked the hell out of him.

Yahoo needs to get a sense of humor.
