Well, mostly because it drives soccer fans crazy. Its like USA fans going to a soccer game expecting to see a fight between two females and instead watching guys in shorts afraid to touch the ball running around for several hours with nothing to watch. At least they could have some attractive females on the sidelines.

True, but you have to use the feet at some point to get the ball across the goal line into the end zone.
