Because they could only take 3 and it came down to Turco or Hasek. Hasek deserved a spot based on how well he has done but since the game is in Dallas the league knew it had to have Turco in the game. I am sure Hasek is a bit bummed but at this stage in his career I think he understands that the 5 days off would be better for him anyways and all he wants is another shot at a Cup. As a Wings fan I am glad he wont be there , it would be a shame for him to get injured in one of the skills competitions although he clearly has done enough to earn a spot.

He will not make a All-star game is a few years because one he is not that great goaltender all around. He is good for blocking some shots but he still lets so many get by him and that is why he is never voted in at all. I think that if they go by stats instead of popularity Hasek might get in but that is up to the NHL officals to decide and make happen. I think that he should be and All-star but keep giving him the goaltending award and it will be alright

he is a great goalie but being a allstar means being a great player, skill and as a person. remember that the people voted for who would be an all star and a lot of people don't like dominik hasek

Well, he is. Just that the NHL All-Star game is not about all-stars. With the stupid one player per team sort of rule (it's not actually a rule but you know what I mean), there was just no room for him. Detroit already had a few players on there.
Anyway, All-Star games are a joke. Pray Hasek stays healthy. Cups are more important than All-Star Game snubs.

Because the All Star roster is voted on by the fans and Hasek is not popular. I am a Wings fan and I did not vote for him.

people keep forgetting the team he is on and is only avg. 20 shots a game he has a great team in front of him and his defence are playing great in front of him and not allowing that many shots. so to the goalies that have made the All-Star teams have great stats also but are facing more shots and are closer games and yes he is getting older and after he left the Sabres he would only play on contending teams and people don't like that in a player except the fans that have him as the goalie on their team. and he also has a really bad attitude. id like to see him face around 35 shots a game like Huet does in Montreal then you will see Hasek GAA avg. and SP% not as good as they are playing with the Red Wings facing 20 shots a game.

he is getting older, and hasn't played as well as he used to play. There are better goalies at the moment then him, though Hasek was one of the best of his time.

Because there are goalies who are having a far better season and you can only invite so many.
