Dany Heatley from Ottawa is the only LW chosen with better numbers (3 more goals, a bunch more assists), but Heatley averages almost FOUR more minutes per game, and he's played in SIX MORE GAMES.

it's because the league mandated this year that there should be a representative from every team. so because ovechkin's going, it hurt semin's chance. also, media has a lot of influence, and last year, semin played in russia because he didn't like his ice time. therefore, nobody knew about semin and there isn't as much hype about him.

because only the best or most players make the All-Star game. Semin isn't popular or good enough to make it.
