No, that's why it is fetal ALCOHOL syndrome. If you do not drink then you are ok. If you drink while pregnant then you run the risk of your child having the syndrome.
It cannot get passed unto your child. If there is alcholism in your family then that can be passed on through hereditary.

No, fetal alcohol is a condition that occurs if the child is exposet to alcohol while in the womb. It doesn't necssarily take much, so it's best advised not to drink at all when pregnant.

If you are asking if Alcohol fetal syndrome cause genetic damage, I don't think so. I think it alters expression of the genes instead.

No. It is the result of the mother's drinking while she is pregnant. If she does not drink, the baby will not be affected. However, alcoholism is hereditary.

no. the only thing that would affect the baby is if your body (because of the FAS) didn't produce everything the baby needs, I guess it's possible there might be a small birth defect like under weight or premature birth. But the FAS is only a possibility if you drink when you are pregnant. ( However, I am not a Neonatologist)

This should not be passed on because it is the result of environmental factors. It is not inherited in the genes.
