I find that change is achieved by doing.
I used to be shy, but I changed that by forcing myself into situations where I HAD to interact with others.
I used to be intimidated by various situations, but by putting myself into these situations over time, I found them to be less intimidating.

First of all, I'm sure you're not a loser. You probably just have low self-esteem.
There are several things that "cool" people all have in common.
One is that they don't run around calling themselves losers.
They have confidence in themselves and in the choices they make. Don't second guess yourself, just go with your gut on things.
The other thing is that they don't think (or show that they think) that other people are better than them. They'll walk up to anyone and strike up a conversation.
Watch the people that you most want to be like. Really examine them (but not in a creepy way!).
Try to mirror different things that you see them do.
Walk w/ your head up, smile a lot and speak to everyone.
If someone gives you a hard time, just tell them this ~ "Sweetheart, I'm sure you're Mama did not bring you up to be so rude". Call them out on their rudeness and you'll make them feel like the a** they are.
Best wishes!

i agree with you, i live in the uk and am surrounded by football (soccer) 24/7. The main thing i hate about soccer is the way they complain to the referee and waste so much time in doing so.This was one reason i decided to gain an interest in basketball, at first everything seemed fine but then i came across players like Baron Davis, who complain about every single decision. then i see the different incidents in this years playoffs it is ridicuolous, the referee isnt purpoefully going out to make one team lose, they are paid to ref farily and i think they do a good job, its not alwyas easy especially considerign there are so many tiny things referees need to spot. Also, persoanlly when watching i rarely spot the fouls untill the referees call them, and ok, so there is a few exceptions to this, but it is just human error, anyone can make a mistake

Join groups that are good practice for social interaction like Toastmasters. They have a very good system, text and relaxed style. It is fun and helps you learn to handle the pressure of being in front of a group of people. Also, there are many other groups out there that can be helpful.
You can do it. I Did!

Change your hair color to brunette. Even though it isn't your real color, people will respond to you in a more mature way, give you more credit for being knowledgeable and sensible as well as sexy and mysterious. Here's to your new life as a brunette!
