That's what a 60-year-old black man told me yesterday. He ranked it ahead of slavery and segregation.

that was the gist of it, steph. his point is that no man should be forced to go to those places when they feel more comfortable around people likened to them. desegregation is what they should have done, he said. Just give blacks the option.

I can understand the point he was trying to make. Fredrick Douglass and Marcus Garvey were activists who did not fight for integration why would you want to sit with someone who was disgusted by you? Instead they fought for equality. Equal facilities, equal rights, equal opportunities. They tried to get Blacks to unify and support each other so that they would not need to eat in white restaurants, visit white banks etc. But since integration was chosen instead it has been easier for Blacks to controlled and suppressed.

I suspect he has a screw loose.

But some people actually think racism in the south would have faded more quickly if integration wasn't shoved down thier throats at gunpoint.

But you could easily say we'd still have segregation in the schools today if integration wasn't ever forced on them.

No one can accurately predict what would have happened if things were done differently.

Some blacks want to be separate but equal. That's' sorta hard to achieve. What state did he want for the blacks to have as their separate nation? The black people have been with us from the very first landing on this continent. They are equal, this is their land that they helped kill the Indian to obtain. They just need to accept the fact that they are part of this culture, like it or not.

That merely makes it puzzling, and unusual, having races separated. I mean, if you reside interior an same usa you need to be blending with everybody in it, on your city a minimum of. And no one "owns" public loos or colleges or some thing, that's merely an same as having male and woman seperated loos yet with races further to the blend. no one owns public sources, that is owned by technique of the state.
