Im 39weeks pregnant & i saw my midwife yesterday and she told me my baby's head is 3/5 engaged. what exactly does that mean? and does that at all suggest that my baby will be born soon? also i am fed up with being pregnant now i have really bad back pains all the time and cant fit into anything! is there anything i can do 2 bring on labour help! pleaaaseeeee

Yes that does mean that you are close.
To help bring on labour my doctors told me to have sex with my husband, eat spicy foods, drink castrol oil(by the way that is really nasty) and take long walks(with someone with you just in case)

Why didn't you ask your midwife; don't you pay her inquire about your pregnancy? The widest part of the baby's head has slid down into the pelvis. Sometimes, if it is not your first baby, the head can bob in and out of the pelvis, until labour begins. With the 2nd and subsequent babies, the head may not fully engage until labour pains start. As you are 39 weeks pregnant, make sure you have your bag packed and ready to go! If you are worried speak to your Dr. Best of luck!

ive been at 2/5 for the last week and a half im 39 weeks and 4 days with my 5th baby the doc said it could be any time im still waiting, think hes to cosy in there to make an appearance any time soon

For my case, having sex and walking really helps. Being engaged does not mean that u r in labour until u have contractions or your cervix is opening.

I have never heard of such a thing as 3/5th engaged. Maybe she was just saying he was mostly engaged but not completely. Why don't you ask her what station he was at? That is the more usual measurement.
Yes, you will probably have the baby in the next 2-3 weeks.

sorry 2 tell u but it means nowt as my baby was that then moved up again so it doesnt mean ur baby is due 2 be born.
