A friend of mine recently sent money to me through Western Union, and it is fine. Had to show I.D. and fill out paperwork with his name, address, phone, etc., and my name, address, phone, etc. There was no problem whatsoever.

I have heard that western union is very dodgy and have been advised not to use it for any online stuff as it is used by scammers world wide.
