Yes, because you can get more into the story from there point of view.

I take it you mean the first person point of view, with the pronoun "I." Well, I used to hate reading books like that when I was younger, but the older I get the more it's now ok since it feels more personal and the details seem more emotional, so it feels like you are right there to the side of the character seeing what's going on.

I like it from the character's point of view. I don't know why, its better to feel like that someone actually wrote this, and you are reading what they did. Fiction or not. I also like books that have multiple points of view of different characters.

No, I much prefer reading a story in third-person (especially third-perso omniscient). I find this point of view is more real in a sense. Afteall, in life, we cannot BE someone else, but we can get to know them so well that we feel we can fully understand their lives as if they were our own. Also, first person can often (not always, but often) come across sounding conceited or self-obsessed. Third person allows the reader some distance, but is ususally, if done well, highly effective in bringing us close to a character.

I prefer an omniscient point of view, leaving a lot of the guessing work out! I feel cheated if I'm only getting one side of the story.
