It is possible for many reasons, but none of them healthy unless you are taking birth control where this is a side effect.
If your period has stopped and you don't know why, please see a doctor asap.

It is possible for your period to appear to "stop" at any age; however, this is usually due to a period of stress (physical, emotional, psychological, etc.), after which your period might return with regularity. It could also be due to extreme weight loss or a change in diet, at which point your body begins shutting down processes to preserve itself. If neither of these are the case, then I'm not sure, but always check with a doctor, who can offer some help, whatever the cause.

How early???? How "old" are you? If your exercising excessively & or not eating enough that can stop your periods. Otherwise some women for some reason go through early menopause. I know a woman who had this happen to her due to excessive stress over her daughters very ill health. See an Ob/Gyn.

I guess it all depends on what you call early, but I went on a low dose contraceptive pill and it made my periods only last a couple of days, some months just spotting.
Of course there are always risks when taking this pill.
I guess if you are really desparate not to have periods, you can have a hysterectomy, but that is very drastic, and depending on your age, a surgeon may not perform one.

You don't give enough details. Remember....the first 5 or so years of your period can be all over the place. I'm sure yours hasn't stopped.

what you might have is "early menopause", it is also known as "premature ovarian failure" it is not as devastating as it sounds and it is normal. It just means that your ovaries aren't working as they should. maybe you should see your gynocologist to get more answers. Ovarian failure can also be caused by any kind of radiation treatment and things like sugery. Do you have menopausal symptoms?
