Because, since football games are played once a week, the NFL doesnt want one series to take a month. The players have to take a rest after a game for like days and then practice. That is why there are only 16 games in a regular season. Football is more physical than baseball but maybe not if you get hit by a Joel Zumaya 103 MPH FASTBALL!

Being a big baseball fan I've wondered about this before but it would just not be practcal for the NFL. With only 16 games in a season and one game a week, it would not be practical for, say the Jets to have a three-game series against the Bills.
The only way to have a baseball-like schedule would be to have 5-7 games a week. But that would not work either because the players' bodies would not be able to take the physical toll.

If football runs like series, first of all, most of their players would be sore and injuried by the time the second game starts. Second, the players wouldn't put their heart and soul into a game because they know they can get revenge later in the series. Third, football uses more power than baseball... football has tackling, jumps, more running, beating the crap outta people, etc. Baseball is just plainly catch, hit, and run.

Because football is more physical than baseball. If football had series like baseball, the players would have to retire after like 3 or 4 years because of injuries.

They don't play as many games and would have to stay in the same city for 2-3 weeks. It wouldn't be practical.
Not having series in baseball would be impractical also, since it would cause travel everyday instead of every 2-4 days, roughly.

Because the Football players hav to rest, its very aggresive, so if they played once every day they would run slow, drop easy catches, and many more. And the NFL doesnt want to have a series that lasts A Month or Two.

The playoffs would take more than a month with the rest required between games. The last two teams would end up playing close to an entire second season worth of games.

They can't play as often as baseball, so if they had best of 7 series it would take all year! LOL

Have you ever played a football game????? Well, if you haven't... Believe me!! I've played many years in both sports and you get the same amount of fatigue in one football game as you do in seven baseball games. Football is to tough of a sport to play consecutive games.
