I love Pink Floyd for they were way ahead of their time,very inventive in all the ways they wrote and sang their songs.

Though a different genre than the Beatles, Pink Floyd gives them a run for their money as best ever, but I'd still say the Beatles.
Pink Floyd's innovations, inventiveness, musicianship, and song writing nearly match the Beatles, and they have the Beatles beat on musicianship...however, the Beatles were innovating earlier and influenced many more in several ways that Pink Floyd didn't need to do. The Beatles really bust Rock music into the pop scene, while Pink Floyd actually moved it back out into experimental/prog/underground (a GREAT feat in its own right).
So yeah, its close, but I give the boys from Liverpool a slight edge over the boys from London.

That's like comparing apples and bananas.
Both are great bands, but I can't deny the fact that I have every Beatles song ever on my computer... and I just completed my Beatles vinyl collection this weekend with the acquisition of The Magical Mystery Tour on LP....
Pink Floyd: Good for when you're on drugs or making sweet love by the fire (great rhythms and tempo changes).
The Beatles: Good traveling music or for something to listen to all day on a Sunday.

I would have to say they tie with about 3 to 4 bands.... I choies these as the best band's ever for classic rock.
Led Zeppelin
The Rolling Stones
The Beatles
Pink Floyd

In England, just this month, Queen was voted the best rock band ever. They beat out Ther Beatles, The Rolling Stone, Led Zeppelin, The Who, and Pink Floyd.

Anyways, Pink Floyd is an awesome band. I really like them.
My favorite song is, "Another Brick in the Wall".

They're in MY top 3 - David Gilmour was SO amazing to hear live!
And I merely 'like' the Beatles, so I couldn't rank them so high myself.
They are 2 different genres to me, so I couldn't make a tie of them.
