she has been subscribed otrivine nasal drops for children and she is 7 months old. they come with a pippet and she is only supposed to have one drop in each nostril at night but we have just realised that when we squeezed to pippet more than that has been coming out, so she has been having closer to four drops in each nostril. she has been having them for a week now, she is well in her self and only has a rash on her chest and a bit of diarroah, but this is because of her teething, will this harm our daughter?

Don't panic, I'm sure she's fine but phone the NHS advice line just to make sure. Some reassurance from a health professional is what you need , they'll be able to tell you whether you should be running to A&E or not ( although it's unlikely if she's feeling ok within herself ) .
Please stay calm, we all make mistakes , you're not a bad parent, but please do call NHS as soon as possible to put your mind at ease .
Good luck, I hope all is well with your baby .

Don't listen to the numptys on here, if she has been having them all week and is still ok then she will be fine. Phone NHS direct for reassurance, but don't panic, if she was going to have an adverse reaction you would have seen it by now!

Hi
There is usually quite a wide safety margin on this type of medicine, netherless i think you should give NHS24 a call and explain to them they will be able to tell you what course of action to take if any.

Good Luck

Get off the internet and take her to a doctor, they give dosages on these things for a reason. I hope it is all well, but you can never be too careful!

Are you in the UK? Phone NHS Direct 0845 47 47. They'll be able to advise you.

I would take her to your local A&E, whatever happens. Prescription medicines are dangerous when over-administered. It's better to be safe than sorry, especially when she's so tiny.

Hope she's ok xxx

its does state on the packet to stop using it after seven days,so i would stop now.unless your daughter is acting different, i wouldn't worry.trust your instincts and if in doubt, call a doctor or healthline.

You should probably ask poison control or your pharmacist. Instead of being on the computer.
