My dog's name is China. I know someone who named their kids Savannah after the town in Georgia and Siena after she visited the town in Italy. I think place names are beoming really popular too. I love Dakota, Pheonix, Sydney, Sienna, Charlotte. Take a look at the popularity of Madison..even though the parents didn't necessary name their girl after the city or street..that was how the baby name originated.

I have a friend who promised her husband that if the Red Socks won the World Series they would name a boy Boston (she was pregnant). She thought she was safe because they hadn't won in over 80 years, and all us fans thought they were cursed. It was like a joke even. But then they got closer and closer to the finals, then they won the world series so she stuck to her word and agreed to name it boston if it was a boy. Lucky for her it was a girl!!!!

I know several little girls named Savannah and a couple named after a state - Georgia, but could that be just because I am from Georgia (though it is beautiful!)?

I have heard Memphis, Paris, Brooklyn . . .
