I don't have alot of extra money because I am saving for something but there are some books that I would really like to buy. Is there a good, but cheap place on the internet to buy books? It doesn't matter if they are new or used, just as long as they are in pretty good condition!

Also, there are no bookstores or used book stores in my area. Half.com is also out of question.

www.amazon.com they list their price & then also have new & used prices from individuals. Most of the time you can find new ones on there cheaper than they list it for, but I tend to just buy it from them if i need it new [cause its nice for them to do that & they always have gotten the books to me quick & in good shape] and if i get it used i find the good used price from on there. I believe they also are rated on their reliability [the people other than Amazon]. Also you can try www.ebay.com

www.half.com is an extension of ebay (without the bidding, though), so a lot of the stuff for sale is cheaper than normal. Shipping and handling, of course, but it's way cool.

Off the net, there are most likely book warehouses in your area. They sell ?extra? (not sure if they're extra, but I think that's what they are) books for much cheaper than usual. Occasionally they have small problems like rips on the dust jacket or sharpie lines on the bottom, but you still have a cheap book.

My three favorite sites for cheap used books are Amazon, eCampus, and Alibris. They're all consistently much cheaper and the quality is still pretty good. Hope this helps!

i find amazon.com really reasonable. quick delivery too. i have ordered from a few second hand places and had pages missing and just not in good shape. doubleday book club is also pretty decent. you can join as a member and get like 6 books for $ .99.and buy like 4 more at discounted prices over the next year. they have great selections. good luck

thrift stores like salvation army/goodwill/ucpa (not private for-profit ones)

libraries get too many books donated so they usually have a weekly book sale

if you are looking for specific titles then ebay or amazon has links to used copies that individuals are selling

public libraries have come a long way recently and have the catalog online and you can also request books from other branches, and renew online!
this is good if you just want to read the books and not own them

Second hand stores are a good place to look for used books. and online there is a place that just trades books for free.

You can always try half.com, where you buy stuff from other users who sell them online. Amazon.com also offers this option where people can put used items up for sale.

Try books a million or Mr. Kay's used book store.
