I know when it comes to learning, You are learning every day, but.... how is it possible to move on and stop of thinking about some mistakes you've done (due to rush, not enough time, lack of knowledge etc) than in the end cost you more than you could ever thought in the academic life and like everyone says some chances and opportunities only come around once.
As you can't turn back time what can you do?

A big lesson in life is not to dwell on the past. Remember that everyone has made mistakes and everyone looks back and wished they had done some things differently. You probably were dealing with growing up issues at that time like most other people. You have the wonderful opportunity to have realized your error and still have time to make it up. Think of all the people who go back to school later in life and change careers. It is never too late. The most important thing you can do is to read, read, and read some more. Then take one course at a time and concentrate on it. Get free tutoring if it is available or choose something that you love to do as you will spend most of your life doing it. Put your regret on a piece of paper and then tear it up and throw it away. Then think about and write down your reasonable and reachable goals for the rest of your life. Then start on them Sometimes you will fail but pick yourself up again and keep going. That is another secret in life.

Ever heard the saying that when one door closes another opens? Yes, if you'd done something differently you would have ended up going in a particular direction. However, who can say whether that was the best direction for you in the long run? When I first went to college about 30 yrs ago I screwed around and didn't do well. My life definitely would have gone in a particular way if I hadn't done that. However, 30 yrs down the road I've done things that I never would have known I could do, many times over, and now I'm in a career I really enjoy. I'm not sorry about any of the stuff in between, because its all part of how I got here. I wouldn't have made the connections that got me into grad school and this job if my path in life had been linear. I would have missed out on some great friends and wouldn't even live on this end of the country...

Don't forget your mistakes. Remembering will keep you from repeating. However, look for those other opportunities. There's another career or academic path or choice out there that you haven't had a chance to consider before. You may find a way to turn an advocation into a rewarding career. When you've succeeded at something else (and found out how much you enjoy it) you will still remember your early mistakes but you'll be able to quit beating yourself up over them.

A good question--and a lesson I had to learn the hard way--by flunking out of college when I was 19.

I eventually matured--and went back years later, starting at a community college (that had open enrollment--the only kind of school I could get into to start with). For years later I graduated from a major university--as the top student in my class. And am now working on my doctorate.

The lesson I had to learn is twofold: First, never give up--if you make a mistace that closes one door, look until you find a new path to your goals. Second--everyone makes mistakes. There is only one kind of mistake you should be ashamed of -- the ones you don't learn from.

Learn from your mistakes. Work really hard. Remember to always do your best! Plan! Always make a schedule of what you need to get done. Dont beat yourself up about it. Just know that you are better now b/c you learned from your mistakes. Life is about experience, and not all of the experiences will be great. If you failed/got low grades in a few classes or w/e try and repeat them.
GOOD LUCK! <3

well if its not too late by working your butt off now

true you cant turn back time, and some chances do only come around once, but there will be other opportunities so dont be too hard on yourself. if you are you could end up regretting the past so much your future falls into disrepute too.

good luck
