male guppies are testerone factories-sexual opportunists. you should always have more females in the tank than males otherwise the female will get no relief. as soon as a male fertilizes a female, he's off 'looking for' another. as far as a ratio goes, you can try 1m to 4or 5 fem. Keep in mind that you're going to have many,many,many guppies soon-they were formally called the Millionfish. Good luck.

One male and 3-4 females will be perfect. If you have too many males, they will harrass the females to the point that stress becomes a problem for them and will affect their immune systems.
