Please, I really need advice!

I'm in honors English and this class is just destroying me. It's giving me a lot of stress and it's hard to balance all my other classes. I'm going to start working after school, so I will have less time to do the massive amounts of homework I get not only for that class, but for my other classes as well!

I can't think of the pros of dropping this class other than having more free time. I'm a Junior and if I drop this class, I will have no other honors classes. Any advice will be really helpful because I have to make a decision by this weekend, as the semester is going to end.

we all learn how to deal with stress. You have a lifetime to work. If you're going to college I'd stick with the class. It's half done now. You will regret it later when you don't get as high of a ranking because you took a lower english class. You'll regret it later because you may have to take another english class that this one may alleviate you from taking later. Stick with it. Schools like to see students who can balance school & activities. Hold off on the job. Friends are friends they're not going to be there forever. We all go in different circles in our life. Friends come & go...stick with the english!

As a person who took many AP and honor classes, I have to say i regret taking too many at one time. You say you are only taking one though so I'd say stay with it.

Pros:
- You are likely going to learn more in this class and it will prepare you for college.
- it helps your overall gpa
- it looks good on college apps
- if you do get through the class with a passing grade, you will feel great afterwards and likely be proud of yourself.

Cons:
- You have a job and its taking too much time
- its stressing you out -- stress can take a hit on your health.

I dont really know your whole situation so its hard to say, but i hope that helps.

With your parent's permission, they might. I would really consider it carefully. These are the classes that will determine the colleges where you may be accepted to attend, and the likelyhood of scholarships. Is the stress worth the thousands of dollars a scholarship might bring? Only you can decide. With a 4.0 in middle school, you can likely handle it. Middle school is typically the worst time in a student's career. By the way, the AP classes will prepare you to take an exam, that if done well, will result in college credits and that will make your college years MORE FUN! :-) Think about all the elective choices you will have by starting out H.S. with lots of ambition.

Stay in this class if you are looking to get into a good university. If you are struggling with the material, ask for help from the teacher before school, in class, lunch, or after school. It would be excellent to get a tutor at school to help you or hire one to help you at home. I have a stressing schedule this year, balancing out 3 honors classes and band, but I still strive to get A's and B's. Next year will be even more stressing, with AP and HP classes.

A little hard work never killed anything. Having honors and AP classes under your belt will be a big deal next year when you're applying to colleges. Unless it's absolutely unbearable I say stick with it. If worst comes to worst and it's too late to drop you can get a tudor or even just a friend who can help you out with the material.

don't drop it since your in your junior year want to grab as many credits as you can. I know how you feel my english honors class was very stressful and i had the hardest grader in the whole school ( well i used to he dosnt' work there anymore). lots of people dropped his class but i didn't and i ended up learning so much. if u go to reg english true u wouold be getting A with no effort but then youd be learning nothing. i suggest u wait till the summer to work .

I think you should hold on in there. :)

It may be stressful now...but think about it: you will become way smarter.

If it's really destroying you, and you are really upset and not happy then maybe you should drop out so you don't become overly depressed.

But, if you can survive, you should stick with the class.

if you want to but if you go to honors English class, you might get into a better college but if you fail all your other classes, then you probably won't get into a better college good luck =)
