When i start my car the oil gauge doesnt pop up immedialty it takes it a while. When i go to check it there is plaent of oil. Is it just the gauuge or is the pressue not hight enough.

when i run it for a while it finally pops up. i dont no wat is wroong

probably just a bad oil pressure sending unit. check for a loose connection at the sending unit. if it's ok, replace the sending unit.

I assume this happens more when it is cold outside? This was a very common problem for Fords in that yuear range. Go to the DEALER and get an oil pressure switch. It will fix the problem. One note though, more than likely you have a 4.0L, and it is a little tough to get to it.

when its cold outside it takes longer for the oil to get to all the engine parts and or your oil sending unit. just don't race the motor right after you start it as that can do damage to it.

Oil pressure sensor (screwed into the engine block) is bad.

I had to change my oil pressure sending unit.I think its about $9.00. Easy to do.
