from a computer that's connected to the wireless router, hit the start button and click "run." then type the letters "CMD" and click OK. when you get to the prompt, type in "ipconfig /all" A series of numbers will appear, the one you are looking for is called "default gateway" type that number into the address field on your web browser. That's gonna take you to the router's "gateway" where you can change these options. It's going to ask you for a password. If you dont know this or dont have the manuals, typically from the factory they come with default usernames of "admin" and either a blank password or the word "password". I dont know what type of router you have so I can't offer much more in specifics, but the user manual at the manufacturer's website can tell you the further steps to take.

you dont need to.. i mean wireless router should send the wireless signal.. even if you dont have one available.. all you have to do is to make sure that your computer got a wireless adapter on it..so it can recieve the wireless signal sent by the router.
and if it would ask for wireless security.. usually its with the router itself.. underneth.. where it says network key.. if not you have to call your router manufacturer.. some router though dont have wireless security on.. so you can connect without password..

you don't need to access the router.the router transmits the signal...you just need to make sure that the wireless adapter in the computer detects the signal.once it is detected, wep needs to be encoded to authenticate to the service.
